Manipulators for Material Handling in Hazardous Environment
As a leading supplier of machine tools of various types,
HMT has been meeting the needs of various sectors by supplying general
purpose and CNC machines and machines/systems for specific applications
in nuclear power sector. One such is the development of various types
of manipulators for handling in hazardous environments.
 |
 |
Two kinematically identical articulated
arms, each having six degrees of freedom and a gripper on
the slave and a hand grip on the master side.
|
 |
Movements of the articulated arm are identical
to human hand movements. Movements carried out by the operator
on the master are reproduced identically on the slave arm
to carry out the tasks remotely.
|
 |
Ideal for delicate operations involving
handling of hazardous substances required to be carried with
a high degree of faithfulness.

Have a vast scope of application in toxic
chemical industries, space research, oceanography besides
nuclear power sectors.

The three piece manipulator consists of
slave arm, master arm and through tube and employs irradiation,
acid and corrosion resistant materials.
|
 |
The manipulator will be useful in the nuclear
radiation environment for handling radio active waste materials,
for maintenance of equipment in hot cells, etc.
